Wish to develop choir conducting skills and approaches to
working with the voice within the context of a global rhythmic choir?
Together with my colleagues we have created a 4 weekend intensive course including rhythmic choir conducting techniques that embrace different musical aesthetics, vocal groove, workshop tools, rehearsing techniques, body and rhythm work, choral improvisation, choir as part of the society, and creative approaches to working with a choir.
These courses also provide a platform for conductors to share experiences and diverse ideas,
as well as benefit from the support of others working in the field.
Students from the field with a minimum of 2 years of conducting / teaching skills can apply (April)
Any musical background in aesthetics is welcome!
Course structure: 4 weekend modules – 2 per semester:
The core teaching team: Merzi Rajala (resposible teacher), Jennifer Moir, Puro Paju, Ida Olseonen
and various visiting teachers from Finland and abroad. Study credits 8 etc/ year
